When pondering kitchen remodel ideas it is important to take into consideration all of the features you need in your kitchen. The first thing to consider is the size of your kitchen. Do you have a home with a small space or do you have a large open space with ample room? Are you looking for functionality, a specific theme, or bold colors? Some people only want to do a kitchen remodel that requires minimal effort. Others want to completely gut a space and start from scratch.
The kitchen showcased throughout the following photos is of extremely high quality. A remodel of this caliber is no easy task. This kitchen was designed to be aesthetically pleasing, functional, all while being a modern open concept space.
One of the most obvious features of this kitchen is that it has a large open floor plan space with an abundance of natural lighting. The presence of numerous large windows works in providing light throughout the prep area and the dining area as well. To ensure the sun can filter into the room minimal window treatments were used. These simple blinds allow for both the necessary privacy individuals desire but can be opened in a variety of ways to adjust the amount of light entering the kitchen.
From a visual standpoint, it’s readily apparent the kitchen cabinets were installed to offer maximum functionality. The high gloss white cabinets were installed in an L-configuration against the walls where they surround the refrigerator and other appliances. Instillation of this nature maximizes the available space to provide much-needed storage.
Another strategic element to the space was the center island. Although it is not moveable it is beneficial in multiple ways. Not only does it provide additional storage and a cooktop with a stylish range hood, but it offers a bar for a quick snack or cup of coffee or tea.
The perfect placement of the kitchen cabinets and the center island was well-planned and intentional. With a layout such as this, plenty of room is provided so that multiple people can be in the kitchen simultaneously. Furthermore, people can access different areas of the kitchen by entering from two different directions. Having a kitchen design of this nature makes it much easier for more than one person to move around and prepare meals. It also allows people to comfortably sit at the bar and carry on a conversation with whoever is cooking.
Another benefit of this layout pertains to the ease of serving meals at the glass kitchen table that is visible. Had the kitchen cabinets spanned from the end of the island to the base cabinets the current walking path wouldn’t exist. A design like this, if the path is wide enough, would also allow easier access for someone who is confined to a wheelchair or has other mobility issues. Although this may not have been a consideration in this particular kitchen remodel, it is a potential perk of the design.
Maintaining clean lines and a seamless look to these high gloss white cabinets required specific choices. In place of going with traditional kitchen cabinet hardware, this kitchen was done with handleless kitchen cabinets. The moulded finger pulls help give the kitchen cabinetry a sleek look. There are no protruding handles or drawer pulls that can snag your clothes or accidentally bump into. They also allow for easier cleaning of the cabinets.
When looking at the island it would appear as though the cabinetry is identical to the rest of the kitchen. The truth is the drawers used here are different than the rest of the space. Unlike the rest of the cabinets, these drawers are 30” deep, which makes them 9” deeper. Why is this such an important feature? The deeper drawers allow for the easy storage of large pots and pans.
It can be incredibly frustrating when you buy nice cookware and you struggle to find a place to store it. With these cabinet drawers that is no longer an issue. Furthermore, because of their large size, the drawers are installed with heavy-duty hardware. This is essential when placing heavy pots and pans in the beautiful, yet highly functional cabinet drawers.
Other important design elements that went into the creation of this stunning kitchen are the colors. The light grey paint on the walls is an excellent color to help highlight the color of the high gloss kitchen cabinets. The white of the cabinetry against the marble countertop with stainless steel appliances contributes to the overall flawless appearance. Additionally, the choice of high gloss marble flooring is an extra design element that helps elevate the overall look and feel of the space. Choosing to create a kitchen design where things complement each other so effortlessly makes for a more sophisticated and polished space.
It is important to note that because of the abundance of kitchen cabinets there is more than ample storage space. This extra space helps to create a cleaner and clutter-free kitchen. The counter in this kitchen is open and roomy. There are only a few necessary small appliances and other essentials that take up important countertop space.
In the above photo notice how the kitchen hand towel is not tucked away in a drawer or sitting on the counter. A piece of hardware was strategically placed so it is hanging out of the way, yet easily seen and accessible. Something as minor as a place to hang hand towel helps keep this kitchen’s seamless look intact.
A feature of this kitchen that is frequently overlooked is kitchen cabinet organizers. One of the drawers has an organizer that allows spices to be organized so they are easy to see and retrieve when needed. The other drawer was created to comfortably and securely house knives and other kitchen tools. There’s no longer a need for loose knives in this drawer.
When putting so much effort into the design of a kitchen, the last thing anyone wants is unsightly garbage and recycling bins on full display. The installation of this pull-out drawer makes it easier to hide those bins while keeping them in easy reach.
Upon returning to the countertop, if you look closely you can see another key feature. Throughout the kitchen under cabinet lights were installed. These bright LED lights allow for more light to be placed directly on the countertop’s surface. Often there are dark areas beneath wall-mounted kitchen cabinets. With these lights installed, it isn’t always necessary to turn on the bright overhead lights that illuminate the entire kitchen.
Visually, this kitchen was designed for multiple purposes. From anywhere in the kitchen it is possible to see people at the table as well as the living area. This open concept is something many people look for in their interior design. It provides for a busy parent to observe young children while doing food prep. No one gets stuck hidden in a closed-off kitchen away from the rest of the family or friends in adjoining rooms during special gatherings. It provides are more relaxed feeling and reduces harsh lines.
An incredible amount of thought went into every aspect of this space. The space is laid out to allow comfortable movement from one area of the kitchen to the next. It is also a highly functional kitchen that allows for multiple people to be performing a variety of tasks without there being a feeling of being cramped or overcrowded. Furthermore, the kitchen cabinet organizers make it easy to find whatever an individual may need.
This stylish modern kitchen remodel didn’t miss anything in their design. The design of the space and the materials uses are aesthetically pleasing on multiple levels. The kitchen is bright and open during the day or at night. The mixture of the glossy countertops, cabinetry, and floors is truly a showstopper. Simple touches like the pendant lighting, as well as the table and chairs made of glass and metal, along with the stainless steel appliances, help bring the ideal finishing touches to this outstanding space.
